| Scale factor
Above the upper right corner of the graph, space is reserved for
a legend to display the scale factor (for example, Scale 8, or Scale 16). The
scale factor defines the degree of vertical compression applied to the vertical
log scale, as explained above under the heading 'Logarithmic scale'. The scale
factor is only printed if it is greater than the default value, which is Scale
4. From a purely statistical standpoint, any two graphs which share a common scale
factor can be directly compared if they are superimposed, even if the two scales
have different price ranges.
